Did you know that most trucks on the market today have some serious safety shortcomings?

Ford learned all about this in 2015, when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested both the 2015 F-150 SuperCrew and the SuperCab body styles in their relatively new small-overlap crash test.

The IIHS began to conduct the small-overlap test in 2012, and first used the test on large pickups last year. In that first round of testing, the F-150 SuperCrew earned top marks, and received a Top Safety Pick -- but the SuperCab performed marginally.

Ford took that feedback to heart, and this year, both styles maintained structural integrity and earned the Top Safety Pick honor.

The same could not be said of the competition. Interestingly, every other truck tested failed in the exact same way: the foot well area crumbled, causing serious injury to the driver's lower legs, ankles, and feet. In some cases, the driver was badly pinned, and would need help escaping the wreckage.

At Kocourek Ford Lincoln, we're proud of Ford for listening to feedback, and making the changes needed to better protect our customers. We hope you'll visit us to test drive a 2016 Ford F-150 in Wausau, WI.
